Questions asked in IBPS RRB PO MAINS   05NOV 2017

The paper consist of five sections – Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English/Hindi Language, General Awareness & Computer Knowledge. The paper comprises  of 200 questions & you have to attempt it in total time duration of 2 hours. You were allowed to switch between the sections. No particular timing were allotted to each section. Reasoning Ability Questions Asked in IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Mains 2016

1) Floor Based Puzzle:

Seven different boxes namely P,Q,R,S,T,U,V having different number of articles in it , placed one above the other . Number of articles present is 2,6,9,11,15,16,20 not in the same order.

  • There are two boxes between S and the box in which 11 articles.
  • Two boxes between P and in which 9 articles.
  • There are only three boxes between T and the box having 9 articles .
  • S lie below P.
  • U is immediately below who is having 15 articles
  • P doesn’t have 15 articles
  • only one box between Q and V .
  • There are two boxes between the boxes having 15 and 6 .
  • S lie above the box having 11 articles.
  • The difference between number of articles in boxes S and and just above S is greater than 11
  • The number of articles in the box which is just above V is  less than the no. of articles in V .
  • Q does not have 6 number of articles.
2) Puzzles: 8 Car of different colors with different speed were given & you have to match them correctly.
3) Linear Arrangement: 12 persons sitting in parallel. 6 persons facing North & 6 persons facing south.
4) Logical Reasoning: Statement Assumption, Course of action.
5) Miscellaneous Questions – Direction based, Coding – Decoding, Blood relation

1) Number series: Find the wrong number in the given series which does not follow the pattern.

3) Miscellaneous Questions: 15 Questions, based on the topic such as Profit & Loss, Average, Boats & Stream, CI/SI, Time & Work, Average, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Partnership, etc.
4) 8 liters of water is mixed with 32 liters of milk. X liter of total mixture is taken out and 4 liters of each water and milk are added. The final ratio of milk and water in ratio 8:3. find the value of X?
5) A is twice of B age . C age 12 yrs ago is equal to half of B age 6 years after. The sum of all ages is 84. Find the A age after 6 years?
6) A men invested X in compound interest at 20% rate for 2 years. The amount obtained after 2 yrs in put into another scehme Y of 15 % rate for 5 yrs.the difference between amount obtained in X and Y is 5616. What is amount invested in X scheme?
7) MP of B is 1500 more than CP of A. A is marked up by 40 % and gave 10 % discount and profit obtained is 650. Two consecutive of 10% discounts is given on article B. What is CP of A ?

English Language Questions Asked in IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Mains 2016


1) Reading Comprehension: 2 passages (Each 10 questions)
First Passage based on Chaina’s small town in that one hangbouch place rural agricultural.
Second Passage based on urban development and Vegetable and its imp in Britain.

2) Para jumble: based on Internet Banking
a) Until six months ago, no self-respecting financial consultant would travel without it: the bar chart showing that the marginal cost of Internet banking transactions was a tiny fraction of the cost of branch banking.
b) It was the chart that launched dozens of stand-alone Internet banks.
c) Unshackled from the cost of real property—and real people—Internet banks would, it was claimed, blow stuck-in-the-mud incumbents out of the water.
d) However, as Roberta Arena, director in charge of the Internet for HSBC, a British banking giant, remarks wryly: “Easy to say; tough to do.” Now Internet banks around the world are faltering.
e) Part of the reason is that their physical rivals have become wiser, launching their own integrated “clicks ‘n bricks” strategies that offer customers electronic access as well as dark satanic branches.But they are not undisputed winners either.

3) Cloze Test: Based on topic “sleeping”.
This time cloze test was asked in different way. Instead of giving words, phrases were given to fill in the blanks.

4) Fillers: Fillers were asked differently.
There were 3 fillers given. You were given only 2 words  in the option. You have to chose the option in such a way that the first word given in the option can be filled in first two blanks and the second word can fill the last blank.

5) Error Spotting: 5 sentences were given & you have to select the sentence with no error.
