1	Pi DAY-March 14 On 14 March Pi Day is celebrated around the world. Pi is a symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant. It is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter which is approx. 3.14. The symbol π was devised by British mathematician William Jones in 1706 to represent the ratio and was later popularized by Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler  International Day of Action for Rivers-March 14 Every year on 14 March, the International Day of Action for Rivers is observed to raise voice to protect rivers and demand for improving the policies for Rivers. It is a day to educate one another about the threats facing our rivers and to find solutions.
2	PM launches Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthan evam Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan (PM-SURAJ) portal. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment launched a nationwide initiative aimed at offering credit support to the marginalized segments of society. Government of India, ADB sign $181 million loan to improve livability and mobility in Ahmedabad.The project will benefit urban poor, women, and migrant workers through improved urban services and urban governance.
3	NITI Aayog Launches ‘Vocal for Local' Initiative Fostering Grassroots Entrepreneurship and Self- reliance.'Vocal for Local' Initiative Sets Stage for Grassroots Empowerment.
4	'Agray' and 'Akshay', the 5th and 6th ships of 08 x ASW Shallow Water Craft (SWC) Project being built by M/S GRSE for Indian Navy, were launched on 13 Mar 24 at M/S GRSE, Kolkata.
5	Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has completed India’s largest Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh.
6	The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the merger of a financial technology company, Garagepreneurs Internet Pvt Ltd with the North East Small Finance Bank.
7	IndusInd Bank has introduced ‘Indus PayWear,’ a new wearable payment solution, available on Mastercard.
8	Mumbai-based tech company Aurionpro Solutions has secured a Rs 100-crore contract from State Bank of India for the licence, implementation and support of its transaction banking platform, iCashpro+.
9	Srinivasan K. Swamy, CMD of integrated marketing services company RK Swami Ltd. has been presented with IAA Goden Compass Award at the 45th IAA World Congress held in Penang, Malaysia.
10	Indian author Amitav Ghosh has been awarded the prestigious Erasmus Prize 2024 by the Netherlands-based Praemium Erasmianum Foundation for his significant contributions to the theme “imagining the unthinkable” through his writings on the climate crisis and human interactions with nature.
11	Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, launched the Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) program in Chandigarh. Olympic Champion Neeraj Chopra commended the initiative, emphasizing its potential to balance sports and studies. KIRTI, part of the Khelo India mission, targets athletes aged nine to 18 in schools nationwide.
12	The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers introduced the Revamped Pharmaceuticals Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme (RPTUAS). The initiative provides quality-based subsidies to pharmaceutical companies for achieving Revised Schedule M and WHO-GMP certifications

2	·         The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors has approved the Assam Resilient Rural Bridges Program, aimed at enhancing connectivity for over 1.8 million people residing in rural areas of Assam, India, particularly during extreme weather conditions.
3	·         Kerala has the highest number of total passport holders in the country, reaching 98.92 lakh, which includes both males and females.Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of male passport holders, with a count of 70.58 lakh. The survey conducted as part of the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) Youth Leadership Fellowship in 2023.
4	Odisha government led by Naveen Patnaik has announced an additional 10 days of casual leave for women working in various government departments.
5	Union Minister Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, responsible for Electronics and IT, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, inaugurated India’s first FutureLABS center at C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram.
6	The Indian Navy recently took part in a major maritime exercise called Exercise Cutlass Express – 24 (CE-24). This exercise was held in Port Victoria, Seychelles from 26 February to 08 March 2024.

8	According to the latest data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), India was the world’s top arms importer for the period 2019-2023. India’s arms imports witnessed a 4.7% increase compared to the 2014-2018 period.

11	The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for January 2024 reflects a growth rate of 3.8%, indicating a slowdown compared to December 2023.
12	Retail inflation in February 2024 saw a decline to a four-month low of 5.09 per cent, remaining well within the Reserve Bank of India’s comfort zone of 6 per cent for the sixth consecutive month.
13	·         The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has secured $24.5 million from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) for its inaugural anchored project, the Avaana Sustainability Fund (ASF), valued at $120 million.
