1	The Maharashtra cabinet has decided to propose renaming Mumbai Central Station after Nana Jagannath Shankarseth, a renowned social reformer and philanthropist who played a crucial role in shaping Mumbai.	Nana Jagannath Shankarseth is often hailed as the architect of Mumbai (formerly Bombay). His notable contributions include being the first Indian nominated to the Legislative Council of Bombay and founding the Bombay Association in 1852
2	The Government of India is launching a pilot program for cashless treatment of road accident victims, in alignment with its commitment to reduce fatalities due to road accidents.The pilot program, developed under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, aims to establish an ecosystem for providing timely medical care to road accident victims, including during the golden hour. The National Health Authority will oversee implementation in coordination with police, hospitals, and State Health Agencies. Victims are entitled to cashless treatment of up to Rs. 1.5 lakhs per person for a maximum of 7 days from the date of the accident, applicable to all road accidents. 3	The Department of Fisheries has integrated the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Fisheries scheme onto the JanSamarth Portal, promising enhanced access to credit for fishers, fish farmers, and stakeholders nationwide.	Kisan Credit Cards (KCC): Introduction: The KCC scheme was launched in 1998 to provide timely credit support to farmers for cultivation and other needs. Implementing Agencies: Commercial Banks, Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Small Finance Banks, and Cooperatives are involved in implementing the scheme. Features: KCC comes with an ATM-enabled RuPay debit card, simplified procedures, and built-in cost escalation. Aadhaar linkage is mandatory for interest subvention.
4	Union Home Ministery launched a newly developed Digital Criminal Case Management System (CCMS) by the National Investigation Agency (NIA)	NIA: The National Investigation Agency (founded 31st Dec 2008; HQ: New Delhi; Under Home Ministry) is the primary anti-terror investigation task force of India. The agency is empowered to deal with the investigation of terror-related crimes across states without special permission from the states under a written proclamation from the Ministry of Home Affairs. It has the authority to take over cases from state police forces and other agencies. It seeks the sanction of the Central government for prosecuting accused individuals under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other scheduled offences.
5	Election Commission of India has announced Para Archer and Arjuna Awardee, Sheetal Devi (winner of 2 gold and 1 silver medal in the Asian Para Games 2022) as its National Person with Disabilities (PwD) Icon.	Election Commission of India (ECI)  It is an autonomous constitutional authority responsible for administering Union and State election processes in India.It was established on 25th January 1950 (celebrated as National Voters' Day). The body administers elections to the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and State Legislative Assemblies in India, and the offices of the President and Vice President in the country. 6	New Delhi is ranked the world’s most polluted capital city for the fourth consecutive year since 2018. According to Air Quality Report 2023 conducted by Swiss organisation IQAir, Delhi’s PM2.5 levels worsened from 89.1 micrograms per cubic metre in 2022 to 92.7 micrograms per cubic metre in 2023. Bihar’s Begusarai has emerged as the world’s most polluted metropolitan area. With an average annual PM2.5 concentration of 54.4 micrograms per cubic metre, India had the third worst air quality after Bangladesh and Pakistan.
7	Renowned poet Prabha Varma has been selected for the Saraswati Samman for the year 2023 for his work in Malayalam language. He has been considered for this award for his Malayalam language poetry work, Roudra Sathwikam and also for his contribution to the literature during the period 2013 to 2022.
8	The three day Startup Mahakumbh, one of the biggest events showcasing the startup ecosystem, began at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today. This startup event aims at connecting startups with a spectrum of inventors including venture capitalists, investors and potential corporate partners. Speaking at the event, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, DPIIT Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said, there are over one lakh Startups in the country as of now, which were only 300 when the Startup  India initiative was launched in 2016. 1	India’s ranking on the United Nations Human Development Index improved by one position in 2022 to 134 out of 193 countries ranked compared to 135 out of 192 countries ranked in 2021 on the back of a marginal increase in its HDI value to 0.644 compared to 0.633 in 2021. 2	India’s Shipping Ministry has approved waterways projects worth ₹645 crore on Brahmaputra in Assam. Projects, which will be developed under the Sagarmala programme. Brahmaputra River The Brahmaputra is one of the major rivers of Asia, a trans-boundary river which flows through China, India and Bangladesh. It is known as the Yarlung Tsangpo River in Tibet, the Brahmaputra, Lohit, Siang, and Dihang in India, and the Jamuna in Bangladesh. The River Tsangpo enters into India through sharp south-westerly turn along the eastern side of Namcha Barwa. Then it get new name Dihang in Arunachal Pradesh.  Debang and Lohit Rivers meet Dehang River near the city of Sadia, it is known by the name of Brahmaputra River. The River Brahmaputra flows westward, till the city of Dhubri and thereafter turns southward in the Garo hills region and enter into Bangladesh near Golpara. It is called Jamuna in Bangladesh. Here, Tista and other rivers meet Brahmaputra which falls in the Padma (Ganga) in the end.
3	The Prime Minister inaugurated the first Oil Palm Processing Mill under Mission Palm Oil in Arunachal Pradesh. Launched in 2021, the National Mission for Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) aims to boost oil palm cultivation and crude palm oil production.
4	Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri has launched Ethanol100, an alternate auto fuel in New Delhi.
